Simple team scheduling with Doodle

Working in groups can be tough. No, scratch that; it is tough. Group work is all about balancing personalities and trying to get the most from your partners. It’s a great test of life — learning how to work with people, especially to create great things.

Those who work in a team that genuinely meshes well are enormously lucky. Unfortunately, some of us don’t get to live that life.

One of the hardest things about working with a team is getting together to meet face to face. Aside from balancing personalities, there’s a fine art to balancing people’s schedules. It’s not rare to have to more than one meeting with different team members just to say the same thing. Sometimes the schedules just don’t mesh.

Doodle: easy scheduling

I know we have a large choice of task managing and scheduling apps to choose from. Some are free, some are not. Most are extremely extensive, especially if paid for. Doodle is kind of in the middle, not too big and not too small. Doodle has a free version of which I’m fond, and use for most of my meetings. When I need to know someone’s availability, I typically send them a Doodle that allows them to check off what times they are available.

In addition, Doodle is great to make a quick decision, especially in a large group. You send out a Doodle with choices and it’s like a quick survey, you select your option and cast a vote. Simple as that.

Doodle has a Premium version starting at $39 per year and the Free version limits the amount of transactions you make and doesn’t show you exactly who may be missing from a vote or event scheduling.

As a user, I totally recommend Doodle for scheduling, especially if you are attempting to stay in contact with your team for cheap (or free).
